If you cannot speak safely, call 999, stay on the line, and when prompted press 55. This is the Silent Solution system. It tells the police operator you need help but cannot talk, and your call will be transferred to the police. Coughing or tapping the handset will not work on its own — you must press 55 when asked.
If someone else can see your phone or computer, they may be able to see which pages you have visited. Use the Exit site button at the top of this page to leave quickly.
Safer options: use a device the other person cannot access — a friend’s phone, a work computer, or a public computer at Feltham Community Hub & Library, 2nd floor, 210 The Centre, High Street, TW13 4GU. Library computers are free to use.
Private or incognito browsing does not save history on the device, but it does not hide activity from someone who has installed monitoring software, and it does not hide it from the phone bill or the network.

In one visit you can get advocacy and safety advice from domestic violence specialists, plus help with family law protection orders, immigration law, benefits, housing, employment and support for children. That is the practical value of it: several kinds of help in one place, on one morning, rather than separate appointments.
From Feltham it is a short bus or train journey to Hounslow town centre.

Run by Refuge and answered by trained female support workers. Free from mobiles and landlines, and the number will not appear on an itemised bill. They can help with safety planning, information, advice and refuge places.

Hounslow also runs WeMatter, a video-based service for 8 to 17-year-olds affected by abuse in their parent or carer’s relationship or in the family home. It is not suitable for children currently experiencing ongoing abuse or still living with the alleged perpetrator.

For safeguarding concerns about an adult who needs care and support and may be experiencing abuse or neglect. Email adultsocialcare@hounslow.gov.uk. They aim to make contact within 24 hours.
You do not have to be ready to leave. Every service on this page will talk to you about options without pushing you into a decision. Calling is not a commitment.
Abuse is not only physical. Controlling and coercive behaviour, threats, financial control, isolating you from family and friends, and monitoring your phone or movements are all forms of domestic abuse, and all of these services cover them.
Ask for ANI. Participating pharmacies across the country operate the “Ask for ANI” scheme. If you ask a member of staff for ANI, they will take you somewhere private and help you contact the police or a support service. Look for the scheme sticker in the window.
