FelthamDeals is a small, independently-run community website for Feltham, London — not a large company. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, why, where it goes, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at roundaboutfeltham@gmail.com and we'll do our best to help.

A note on where we're at FelthamDeals is a community website. We are not currently able to confirm our registration status with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and we don't want to claim compliance we haven't actually verified. We take the concerns raised by visitors seriously — this policy is a genuine, accurate description of what the site does today, and we're actively working through the correct legal steps as the site grows.

Who we are

FelthamDeals (also known as Roundabout Feltham) is a community website covering Feltham, TW13 and TW14. Contact: roundaboutfeltham@gmail.com.

What personal data we collect, and why

We collect personal data only when you choose to give it to us, through the forms on this site:

We don't collect anything beyond what you type into these forms. We don't ask for, and don't want, sensitive information (like health details about you — the accessibility fields on business listings describe premises, not people).

Where your data goes and how it's stored

Form submissions are handled by Netlify, the company that hosts this website, using their built-in form-handling service. We read submissions from Netlify's dashboard and manually add approved listings to the site. We do not currently run a separate database — Netlify's dashboard is where submitted data sits until we review it.

Anything you ask us to publish (like a business listing or event) is, by its nature, made public on the site — that's the whole point of submitting it. Contact details you submit for a listing (like a business phone number) are shown publicly if the listing goes live, since visitors need a way to get in touch with the business. If you submit contact details for a different purpose (like your own email on a local alert report), we only use that to contact you about the submission — we don't publish it.

How long we keep it

We don't currently have a fixed automatic deletion schedule. Submitted data stays in Netlify's dashboard until we review it; published listings stay live until removed or updated. If you'd like something deleted — a submission or a listing — email us and we'll action it.

Cookies and analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they look at. This is a cookieless, privacy-focused analytics tool — it does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a personal profile of you.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand website traffic and measure useful interactions with FelthamDeals listings and offers. For example, we may record when a visitor clicks a business's phone, website, email or directions link, shares a listing, or interacts with an offer such as viewing details or claiming a deal. These events use public business and offer identifiers and the type of action taken; we do not intentionally send visitor form data, phone numbers or email addresses as analytics event parameters.

GA4 is used with Google Consent Mode. Analytics storage is initially set to denied and is subject to the consent choices and settings that apply to visitors. Google's own privacy policies explain how information is processed once it is received by Google.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

FelthamDeals currently uses Google AdSense to display a limited number of manually placed advertisements. Auto ads are not enabled. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve, measure and personalise advertising, depending on the choices you make and the applicable settings.

FelthamDeals uses Google Consent Mode and a consent message for visitors in relevant jurisdictions. Advertising and related storage/personalisation signals are initially denied until an applicable consent choice is made. We do not control Google's processing once information is received by Google; Google's own policies explain how it uses information from sites that use its services. Travelpayouts and travel affiliate services

FelthamDeals includes a Travelpayouts-powered travel search/white-label service. If you use travel search or booking links, your browser may connect to Travelpayouts and/or the airline, hotel, travel agency or other booking provider involved. FelthamDeals may receive an affiliate commission when a qualifying booking or other action is made through an eligible travel link. This does not necessarily change the price you pay. Other cookies, storage and similar technologies

Some third-party services used by the site may use cookies or other storage/access technologies. Where required, we provide information and request consent before non-essential storage or access is used. The exact technologies and their purposes can change as third-party services are updated.

Third-party services this site connects to

Several sections of the site (live buses, trains, weather, air quality, flood warnings, news and travel search) work by your browser fetching live data directly from third-party services. This means your device can connect directly to those organisations or their infrastructure — they may receive your IP address and basic browser information as part of the request.

We don't control what these organisations do with that connection — each has its own privacy policy. We chose all of them because they are genuinely useful, official or well-established public data sources, not to share your data for marketing purposes.

The site is also built using open-source code libraries (React, Tailwind CSS) loaded from public code-hosting services (cdnjs, unpkg) — these serve code files only and, as far as we're aware, don't process personal data.

Stripe payments for featured placement

If you choose the optional £10 a month featured placement (unlimited deals), payment is processed by Stripe, a payment processor. You are taken to Stripe's secure checkout to complete payment. FelthamDeals does not see or store your full card number or other full card payment credentials. Stripe processes payment information under its own terms and privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

We may receive confirmation of payment, business and contact details, and the date booked, as needed to administer the featured placement. Featured placement is £10 a month with unlimited deals, and does not affect the business's free listing.

Use of AI

We use AI tools in running this site. Please do not enter personal or sensitive information into any AI feature — what you type may be sent to a third-party provider. Email us instead if you need to tell us something personal.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

ask what personal data we hold about you
ask us to correct inaccurate data
ask us to delete data we hold about you
object to how we're using your data

To exercise any of these, email roundaboutfeltham@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.

Children

FelthamDeals isn't specifically directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please get in touch and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page as the site changes — for example, if we add new forms, payment features, analytics, advertising, or other services that collect or process data. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent change.
