A short, honest explanation of what FelthamDeals is (and isn't), for anyone in general practice or social prescribing considering pointing a patient here.

What FelthamDeals is

FelthamDeals is an independent, privately-run local information website for Feltham, TW13 and TW14. It brings together local NHS service information, council services, community organisations and practical local support in one place, organised by topic.

It is not part of the NHS, Hounslow Council, or any GP practice, and nothing on the site should be read as an NHS or council endorsement of FelthamDeals, or a FelthamDeals endorsement of any organisation it lists.

How it might be useful for signposting

NHS England's own guidance on active signposting describes staff using "local knowledge and resource directories" to point people toward community groups and services, alongside clinical care — and its social prescribing guidance specifically names services like housing, debt advice, food support and voluntary/community organisations as the kind of thing a local directory can usefully cover.

Where a patient needs general orientation — "where's my nearest pharmacy," "how do I self-refer for physiotherapy," "what happens if I can't afford my heating bill" — FelthamDeals collects these together with direct links to the actual official source (NHS.uk, the specific NHS Trust, Hounslow Council, or the relevant charity) rather than replacing them.

It's a starting point for orientation, not a replacement for clinical judgement, safeguarding processes, or your own organisation's referral pathways.

We're not asking for an endorsement. The only question worth asking first is whether your team would find it useful for the patients you're already signposting — everything else can follow from there.

How the information is put together

• Every listing is checked against an official or primary source (NHS.uk, the relevant NHS Trust, Hounslow Council, the Charity Commission, or the organisation's own site) before publishing.
• We do not invent services, organisations, statistics or contact details. Where something can't be verified, we say so rather than guess.
• Where we find outdated or incorrect information (including on other websites), we correct it and note what changed.
• Content is dated so you can see when something was last checked.
• We're an independent local business — some sections (business listings, advertising) are commercial, and these are kept clearly separate from the free information/signposting content.
