Heathrow to Feltham

Feltham is one of the closest towns to Heathrow Airport, about 3 miles from the boundary — here's the fastest and most practical way to travel each way.

Bus — the direct, sensible option

Two TfL routes run directly between Feltham Station and Heathrow, with no need to change:

Fare: £1.75 flat single with contactless or Oyster (frozen at this price until at least July 2026). The Hopper fare means a second bus within 60 minutes of your first tap is free — useful if you need to change buses locally first. Cash is not accepted on TfL buses.

Train — not usually the sensible route

Feltham station itself has no direct rail line to Heathrow. Going by train would mean travelling into central London first (e.g. to Paddington) and then back out on the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth line — a detour that's slower and more expensive than the direct bus for a local journey. The Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express only make sense if you're already travelling to/from central London anyway.

Taxi & private hire

A taxi or private hire car from Feltham to any Heathrow terminal typically takes 10–20 minutes and costs roughly £12–£25, depending on traffic, time of day and operator. See our Taxis page for local providers, and always confirm the fare when booking.

Accessibility

Feltham station has step-free access to both platforms and a Changing Places toilet — see our full Accessible Transport page for details, including how to book Passenger Assistance in advance.

At the Heathrow end, all TfL buses are low-floor and wheelchair accessible, with ramps deployed on request. For airport-side assistance (special assistance through security, at the gate, etc.), book directly with Heathrow.
